I clicked on this story because I have been in the same situation with my first and my second marriages. With the first one, my ex, now deceased mother in law was an arrogant working class snob. I simply wasn’t anywhere near good enough for her daughter. In the end, they won and played a very large part in our break up and the loss of my three children to my ex and her family. It’s a tough one. A younger me would advise you to stick with it and love would conquer all. An experienced me would tell you that blood is thicker than water, and my ex-mother-in-law as thick as pigshit, and to get the hell out before they destroy you. Good luck.
