I have written a piece on this but not yet published, because it is pretty scathing about Vocal Media. I thoroughly enjoy writing on VM as there are some great benefits. Its a good editor, though you cannot amend a heading or subhead after publication. Neither can you delete your own stories. On the plus side, you can earn bonuses for reaching certain quantity milestones. You can also enter challenges with very good top prizes, like 1000 dollars. But the earn from reads is pathetic. In three years I have only earned 107 dollars, 100 dollars in bonuses and three Top Stories, and seven dollars for reads, whereas on Medium I have earned three thousand dollars! There also appears to be a coterie of favored writers who constantly win Top Story and regularly get promoted in a feature called 'Creators we're loving' So, yes, very mixed feelings. Sticking with it for now, though for how long I cannot tell.
