Re the referance to those giants of popular music and culture, in part it was very much tongue in cheek, which in a medium like this, devoid of tone of voice, is very difficult to get across. Perhaps I need to spell that out in the text. But also, I was alluding to how a synergy between two creators can produce good results, whoever those creators may be.
