Sorry, Tessa, I beg to differ; If people follow you then they are effectively subscribing to you. If they read your stories, then they are effectively paying you. If you publish your content to Medium or Substack, then you are submitting to publications, even if it is on your own pub.

For what it is worth, what you earn in a month I once used to earn in a week, in a past writing life. I am happy that you are being successful, in fact, I love it, but please Tessa, don’t try to put me down by putting yourself up. You have no need to lord it over me. Let your success speak for itself.

Like you, here on Medium, I too have earned three figures, not very far from four! And although you think that I write for writers (re your comments on another post of mine) this merely shows how little you have delved into my writing background here on Medium. I am an eclectic writer and cover a very broad range of content, including short stories, articles, novellas, biographies and poetry, and even pop songs with two of my four albums out there on various platforms including Spotify.

I have one advantage in my favour, I am long in the tooth and have been around the block a good many times. There are a great many miles on the clock, but I run sweet as a nut.
