Still Alive And Well
Learning to be grateful
To say that this past two years has been somewhat tumultuous would be something of an understatement. It all started with the onset of the Corona virus, and yet it had absolutely nothing to do with Covid. One day I was blissfully going about my business and suddenly my whole world was turned upside down. I have chronicled my health issues here a good deal, so I will resist the temptation to revisit in any great detail the multitude of chronic illnesses I was suddenly beset by. Suffice it to say that it was sufficient for me to require the services of a team of about half a dozen specialists at a hospital in Japan.
Eventually after about a year and a half I was beginning to get everything under control and stabilised. Then suddenly whilst out cycling, which was part of my therapy, an act of imprudence on my part landed me right back in hospital, this time for three months with a fractured hip and, to my recent discovery, a fractured leg. The latter has only now come to light after a bone scan to test the density of my old bones. The good news is that my bone density is excellent, much better than most people in my age group. As for the fractured leg, like the hip, I will just have to let it self repair.
