Thank you, yours is one of the best responses I have had so far. All of your points are valid. Sadly, although 90 percent of the comments have been not unlike yours, I did come in for some unacceptable abuse from one man in particular to the point that I had to block him.

Of course, I know we can’t say “All women...," any more than we can say “All men...” and yet although there is a plethora of women saying “All men...” I have not seen anything like the back lash I received.

Let me say, I did tag a strident female story I was reacting to, but I doubt anyone bothered to go read it. It seems that women can say how they feel and men have to grin and bear it.

Also, although I said Women, I did in the text make it clear that not all women nor all men are bad. I get the feeling that some people chose to skip over that part because they were so outraged by the main thrust of the story.

When I say I got fleeced by the courts it is because although I had paid all child support up front for many years to come costing me tens of thousands of pounds/euros, the law refused to recognise that and ordered that I start paying child support, and they backdated it and sent me demands for immediate payment or go to jail. For what it’s worth, I paid that money from my share of the proceeds from the sale of my house, and I did so as I could not be certain of always being in paid employment in the years to come.

I was not a man of privilege, very far from it. I came from a very poor background but by dint of lots of hard work I managed to put myself through university twice and set up and ran several successful businesses. Sadly I am not too old and too infirm to work and have only a very small state pension, which is nowhere near enough to pay the bills.

I know more men offend that there are offended, but it seems to me we are all tarred with the same brush. For lot of women, all men are rapists and abusers, which we are not. In the end, I guess I just had some bad luck and was innocent to the ways of some women. Anyway, thank you for your civilised response.
