The Island Part Ten
Crows have ears
It was all getting more than a tad too much for me, and Kell looked like he’d had enough too.
“What we gonna do, Kell?” I asked.
“What’s with the teddy bear in your hand?” he replied.
I raised Charlotte’s precious cuddly toy.
“Do you remember the story you told me about the little girl, Charlotte? This is her teddy bear. You said to me, ‘If only cute teddy bears could speak.’ Well, guess what? This one can and has spoken. This cute furry little creature showed me everything, Kell.
“It was that evil bastard mister bitter almonds I tried to tell you about. He killed her after she saw him at the museum down at the Elysian Fields. She ran over to the rocks to get away from him, he followed her close behind. Poor little mite fell and broke her ankle. He caught up with her and choked her to death. I saw it all through this little fella Kell. I want that bastard. You wanna help me?”
“Sure, I’m in. You mind if we take a breather in the beer garden and make some sort of a plan first?”
“Sounds like a good idea to me Kell. One thing. Can I go up and see that builder guy? It’s not out of any morbid curiosity huh. There’s something I need to know.”
