The writing related articles I write are in part due to my background as a professional teacher, it is part of my DNA.
I too disliked the plethora of stories you speak of. I suppose I was following a trend, but trying to make a better job of it.
With regards to Beehiiv and Substack, my only intention was to pass on what I had learned to other writers so that they could be better informed about what possibilites lay beyond Medium.
Yourself apart, it was a surprise to me how well those stories performed. Read the comments section to see what I mean.
A lot of people have been speaking ill of Medium and overwell, in my humble opinion, of Substack. I just wanted writers to know of my experience before jumping ship and suffering ill consequences.
For example, I recently highlighted that to earn my modest Medium earnings for this month on Substack, you would need 56 paid subscribers! That, in my view is a tall order that is simply not going to be fulfilled overnight.
Anyway, Tessa, we simply sparred a little and no lasting harm has been done. I admire and respect you. Let’s leave it there shall we. Have a nice day.
