Working For Nothing May Be Good For Your Soul, But It Won't Pay The Rent.
The challenge is not to find work, but to find work that actually pays you something.
Working for nothing maybe good for your soul, but it does absolutely nothing for your financial well being. And so the challenge now is not to find a job so much as to find a job or work that actually pays something.
“ There’s no work “ I hear people cry out. That’s not true, never has been and never will be. There is always work of some sort or other to be done.
However, what has developed is a gig economy where people, desperate to get a foot in the door, will do anything in the hope that it may pay off at some point in the future.
The problem is far too many talented people are now competing for that none paying work and there are far too many companies only too willing to take advantage.
In my own case I have been working flat out, none stop for four months now doing a variety of things, including writing and teaching. And what I have earned is a grand total of just 33 cents ! Yes, you read right, four months hard slog for not even a bowl of rice.
